Warranty Policy

Confidence in Every Container Purchase

At GSL LOGISTICS, we stand behind the quality and integrity of the shipping containers and container solutions we supply. We understand that purchasing a shipping container is a significant investment, whether for commercial storage, industrial operations, construction projects, agricultural use, or modular development.

Our Warranty Policy is designed to provide customers with clarity regarding warranty coverage, limitations, responsibilities, and the process for addressing qualifying warranty concerns.

This policy applies to eligible container purchases made directly through GSL LOGISTICS unless otherwise stated in writing.

Standard Warranty Coverage

12-Month Limited Structural Warranty

GSL LOGISTICS provides a 12-Month Limited Structural Warranty on eligible new and used shipping containers from the date of delivery.

This warranty is intended to cover structural defects that significantly affect the intended use and functionality of the container under normal operating conditions.

The warranty period begins on the date the container is delivered to the customer.

What the Warranty Covers

Subject to inspection and approval, the warranty may cover:

Structural Integrity Issues
  • Structural failures affecting the container’s usability
  • Significant defects in the container frame
  • Structural defects affecting safe operation under normal use
Door Functionality
  • Manufacturing-related defects affecting door operation
  • Defects preventing normal opening or closing under standard use
Weather Resistance
  • Significant structural defects resulting in abnormal water intrusion not caused by damage, modifications, or misuse after delivery
Manufacturing Defects

For eligible new or one-trip containers, warranty coverage may include manufacturing-related defects discovered during the warranty period.

New Container Warranty Coverage

New or one-trip containers typically offer the highest level of structural reliability and may qualify for full warranty coverage under this policy.

Coverage applies only under normal use conditions and according to the intended purpose of the container.

Used Container Warranty Coverage

Used containers are sold based on their condition classification at the time of sale.

While used containers are carefully evaluated before sale, minor cosmetic wear consistent with age and prior service is expected and does not constitute a warranty issue.

Warranty coverage for used containers remains limited to qualifying structural concerns that materially affect functionality.

What Is Not Covered

The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear or conditions that naturally occur over time.

Examples include:

Cosmetic Conditions

  • Scratches
  • Surface rust
  • Paint fading
  • Dents
  • Minor cosmetic imperfections
  • Previous repair marks

These conditions are common within the shipping container industry and do not affect structural performance.

Customer Modifications

The warranty becomes void if the container has been modified, including but not limited to:

  • Welding
  • Cutting
  • Structural alterations
  • Installation of doors or windows
  • Roofing modifications
  • Electrical installations
  • Plumbing installations
  • Conversion into container homes or offices without written approval

  • Misuse
  • Neglect

Environmental Factors

The warranty does not cover damage caused by:

  • Flooding
  • Hurricanes
  • Tornadoes
  • Earthquakes
  • Wildfires
  • Severe storms
  • Extreme weather events
  • Acts of nature beyond reasonable control

Customer Responsibilities

To maintain warranty eligibility, customers are responsible for:

  • Using the container for its intended purpose
  • Maintaining proper site conditions
  • Ensuring adequate support and leveling
  • Performing routine inspections
  • Reporting concerns promptly

Failure to maintain reasonable care may affect warranty eligibility.
